The Kissaki ( Blade Tip ) Is Left In Medium Polish In Anticipation Of Tamashigiri ( Cutting).
The Last Three Polishing Steps ( Jizuya, Nugui, And Hadori ) Are Also Omitted.
(It should be noted that prior to the Edo period ( 1602-1857)
Katana were generally not in high polish unless being offered to Temples).
